1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, pixels, and device fingerprints. This policy uses "cookies" loosely to mean all such technologies.
2. Categories of cookies we use
2.1 Strictly necessary cookies
Required for KiqIQ to function. These cannot be switched off — without them you can't sign in, save preferences, or use the platform safely. No consent required under EU PECR / UK PECR / GDPR.

2.3 Analytics cookies
Help us understand which pages and features are used so we can improve KiqIQ. Anonymised where possible. Set only if you opt in (default in EU/UK is opt-out — analytics not loaded until consent).

2.4 Marketing / advertising cookies
KiqIQ does not use marketing or advertising cookies. We do not participate in cross-site tracking or behavioural advertising networks. We do not embed third-party ad pixels (Meta Pixel, Google Ads, TikTok Pixel, etc.).
3. Third-party cookies
Some pages embed content from third parties (e.g. embedded YouTube videos, social media share buttons) which may set their own cookies under their own privacy policies. We aim to limit such embeds and use privacy-respecting alternatives where possible.
4. Managing your preferences
4.1 Cookie banner
On first visit, EU/UK users see a cookie consent banner with three options:
- Accept all — enables strictly necessary, functional, and analytics cookies
- Essential only — enables only strictly necessary cookies
- Customise — granular control over each category
Your choice is stored in kiqiq_cookie_consent for one year. You can change your preferences at any time via the "Cookie preferences" link in the site footer.
4.2 Browser controls
All major browsers allow you to view, delete, and block cookies. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent KiqIQ from working correctly:
4.3 Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
KiqIQ honours Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signals. When GPC is enabled, we treat the signal as an opt-out from sale or sharing of personal information (in line with CCPA / CPRA expectations) and do not load non-essential analytics.
5. Legal bases for cookies
- EU PECR (ePrivacy Directive) — strictly necessary cookies require no consent. All other cookies require freely given, specific, informed, and unambiguous opt-in consent.
- UK PECR — same standard as EU PECR (post-Brexit retained law).
- California CCPA / CPRA — analytics cookies that use a unique identifier are subject to opt-out rights under the "sale" / "share" definitions; KiqIQ honours opt-out signals.
- Other jurisdictions — KiqIQ applies a global standard of opt-in for analytics cookies regardless of local law.
6. Changes to this policy
When we add new features that require new cookies, we update this policy and re-prompt for consent if the change affects analytics or marketing categories. The "last updated" date and version number above always reflect the current version.
