What is an Asian handicap quarter line?

A quarter line (e.g. −0.25, −0.75, +0.25) splits your stake equally across the two adjacent half-lines. For example, a −0.75 bet is half on −0.5 and half on −1. This produces extra outcomes like half-win and half-loss alongside the usual win/lose/push.

When does an Asian handicap push?

A push (void, stake refunded) happens on whole-number lines when the goal margin exactly matches the handicap. Example: backing the home team at −1 with a 2-1 final result — the home team won by exactly 1 goal, exactly cancelling the handicap.

Why use Asian handicaps instead of 1X2?

AH eliminates the draw, gives finer-grained price lines, and typically has lower bookmaker margin (around 2-3% versus 6-8% on 1X2 markets). For mismatched fixtures it produces more meaningful odds than 1X2 where one side is heavily odds-on.
